Hi I'm Helen, I am a patient, caring and nurturing teacher passionate about building children’s skills, knowledge and confidence. I encourage all pupils to embrace challenges and build independence by creating a friendly atmosphere where mistakes are viewed as a positive part of the learning process.

I am an experienced teacher who offers a personalised child centred approach to learning. I pay close attention to a child’s learning style, tailoring lessons to suit specific needs and interests. I have a creative approach to teaching and I am passionate about making learning fun and engaging for all.

Having worked extensively in Early Years and Key Stage 1, my expertise lies in early Literacy and Numeracy. I am passionate about giving pupils firm foundations upon which to build knowledge and skills. I have extensive knowledge of phonics and early reading strategies. I am highly skilled in supporting learners with speech and language difficulties and those with English as an additional language.

I have a wide range of experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs to access the curriculum and prepare for exams ranging from primary age up to GCSE. Over the years, I have supported many pupils with social and emotional difficulties to engage in learning. I stay up to date with current research and have a range of strategies and knowledge to support these learners develop their skills and achieve their academic goals.

Teaching is a joy and a privilege. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing pupils grow in self-confidence and take pride in their achievements.
