Steph is an enthusiastic individual with a passion for teaching. She priorities engaging and motivating students to enable them to realise their full potential.
Since graduating with a PGCE from Southampton University in 2000 she first taught in secondary mainstream schools in England. For the last 13 years she has taught students across key stages 2, 3, 4 and 5 in Northern Ireland. Over this period of time she has gained extensive experience and curriculum knowledge across all of these key stages. She is a competent teacher of all disciplines of Science to include Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Food Technology. Having been an examiner for the UK exam boards for the past 7 years she has an in-depth understanding of both AQA and CCEA exam requirements. Steph has an appreciation of learning barriers and has mastered a range of approaches to breakdown complex concepts to suite the needs of individual learners. She comprehends the importance of appropriate assessment and positive feedback to enable students to build their own self esteem and become confident learners. Her dedicated approach gives each and every individual the opportunity and skills to embrace subject content and believe in their own ability to tackle classroom assignments and external exams.
