Hi, I'm Emma,
I’m an energetic, dedicated and passionate, qualified and experienced teacher who caters to the varied needs of all learners. I adopt a learner-centred approach that fosters critical thinking and gives my students the best opportunity to reach their full potential.
Before teaching in Northern Ireland, I taught in the Middle East and South Korea to both young children and young adults. I found these experiences to be very worthwhile, both professionally and personally. Teaching abroad helped me develop essential skills and techniques such as how to adapt to different cultural backgrounds, managing group settings and time management skills.
I teach children of all primary levels and specialise in transfer test preparation, helping children develop knowledge and skills required when sitting their SEAG. I am patient and kind and work at boosting children’s confidence and self-esteem which in turn raises performance.
I also have experience teaching SEN whilst working at Fleming Fulton, a school which caters for children with a physical disability and moderate learning needs. In this role, I implemented Makaton to allow students to feel more confident expressing themselves and foster better social interactions.
I have also provided guidance, educational and emotional support to students with learning difficulties such as ASD and ADHD.
I believe as education professionals we have such an amazing opportunity to help shape the future and guide children during their development. I strive to give all I can to help others achieve and fulfil their potential.
