Emma is a highly experienced teacher with the ability to command a room and to keep an audience engaged. She is an energetic and dedicated tutor that caters to the varied needs of all learners. Emma adopts a learner centred approach that fosters critical thinking and gives her students the best opportunity to reach their full potential.

Emma returned to Northern Ireland after teaching early years students in the Middle East and English as a foreign language in South Korea to both young children and young adults. Emma found these experiences to be very worthwhile, both professionally and personally. Teaching abroad has helped Emma develop essential skills and techniques such as how to adapt to different cultural backgrounds, managing group settings and time management skills. Emma expresses an interest in the ethnic background of her students. She encourages students to share information about their ethnic background as a means of fostering a trusting relationship with fellow classmates.

Emma also has experience teaching SEN whilst working at Fleming Fulton. This is a school which caters for children with a physical disability and moderate learning needs. In this job role. She implemented Makaton to allow students to feel more confident expressing themselves and foster better social interactions. She also provided guidance, educational and emotional support to students with learning difficulties such as ASD and ADHD.

Emma believes as education professionals we have such an amazing opportunity to help shape the future and guide children during their development. She takes this very seriously and strives to give all she can to help others achieve and fulfil their potential.
